So bummed he is not able to be here and see her play and help coach her. She was used to his calm and positive coaching skills and now she gets a coach that yells a lot and says a lot of " great win but.....". The team has been improving greatly. It is wonderful to see them getting better on little things that need improving.
These past 2 weekends they played in the championship game for the tournaments. She plays 1st base and has turned out to be quite the hitter when she can get over her nerves. Her team won 2nd place both tournaments. So wonderful considering how they played when we started.
He called during this last tournament and I was giving him some play by play info. It was great to let him know when it was happening what was going on. I take lots of pictures and videos but it just isn't the same.
Here is my daughters team with there medals.
SO PROUD!!

Aww so awesome! I played travel growing up and loved it, my dad was also my coach! So great he could call during the game I bet you guys miss him terriably!
Awe that is great! Congrats to her and her team!
I grew up playing softball. Travel ball was always so much fun. Tell her good luck and to keep up with it! I regret stopping when I did in high school.
I am an AF wife also.. I just starting reading your blog! I used to play travel softball when I was younger as well...Now that I am old.. I see it takes a strong parent! My parents always had to put money forth.. and stay ALL DAY at the tournment! SO YAY to you.. and your Hubby... even tho he is not there he is still calling and that amazing!
Congratulations on your daughter's accomplishments! And I totally understand how you feel. My husband missed my son's entire baseball season, which was especially tough because it was his 1st baseball season (not t-ball). I tried to videotape but it's just not the same. I'm hoping he'll be home to help coach next year. I hate all the stuff our husbands miss.
